These Air Fryer Chicken Tacos come together in about 20 minutes with just five ingredients. Air frying keeps the chicken breasts juicy and tender, while a simple chipotle honey glaze adds sweet heat and big flavor. It’s an easy, reliable recipe for weeknight dinners or meal prep.

Bring the flavor to taco night!
If you love your air fryer, these chicken tacos will become a staple. Air-frying chicken breasts is virtually foolproof and quick. Follow these tips for the best results:
- Butterfly the chicken breasts so each piece is about 1/2 inch thick. That ensures even cooking and tender, juicy meat in about 12 minutes.
- Season generously. Use a taco seasoning you love—homemade or store-bought. For 2 chicken breasts (sliced into 4 pieces), about 3 tablespoons of seasoning works well.
- Glaze near the end. Brush a sauce or glaze on the chicken during the last 2 minutes of cooking for a sticky, flavorful finish. A chipotle honey glaze, BBQ, or garlic parmesan all work beautifully.
Seasoning + chicken + glaze + 12 minutes in the air fryer = a delicious dinner in just 20 minutes.

Key ingredients
Below are notes on the most important ingredients. The full ingredient list and measurements are in the recipe card further down.
- Chicken – Use boneless, skinless chicken breasts for the quickest cook time. You can substitute boneless skinless thighs, but add 3–4 minutes of cooking time and check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Taco seasoning – Homemade seasoning is great, but a store-bought packet works too. Most packets are about 2 tablespoons, so buy two if you need 3 tablespoons for this recipe.

How to serve the chicken
This chicken is versatile: serve it in tortillas as tacos, over rice in a bowl, or on top of a salad. Here are favorite combinations:
- Tacos – Dice the chicken and load into tortillas with guacamole, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, pickled onions, cotija cheese, and cilantro.
- Bowls – Start with cilantro lime rice, add the chicken, and top with black beans, corn, avocado, salsa, and any veggies you like.
- Salad – Serve sliced chicken over mixed greens with red onion and tomato, tossed with a chipotle vinaigrette for smoky flavor.
You can also serve the chipotle honey chicken as an entrée alongside Mexican rice, black beans, or fresh salsa and chips.
